Day Five
Thursday, July 31, 2008. We spent the morning at the beach and the afternoon in the house relaxing; which for those of you who know Samuel means playing a lot of ball. He also loves to play chase in the house. The house has 2 circular paths and Samuel loves to mix it up and have us guess which route he'll take.
This was the afternoon we met the 2 black squirrels living somewhere in the backyard! I was giving Samuel a bath but Dan said one attacked the house!
We had dinner at the Maple Grove Tavern. It seemed much like a local watering hole. We came in to a room with a bar at one corner, a pool table and jukebox. We figured it was OK that we were there when we noticed 2 children sitting at the bar! The food was excellent and we got to watch several games of pool and commiserate with the loser of many of the games -- it was his birthday! He got a few free drinks, though!
After dinner we headed back to Shermans ice cream for dessert and then to downtown South Haven to wander around. Our wanderings took us in the direction of the canal and the South Beach where we stopped to listen to a live band. We headed out to the lighthouse to await the sunset and the sailing of the Friends Good Will Ship we toured yesterday.
